The 16th Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has expressed his willingness to intervene in the Fulani crisis in the country with a view to bringing a permanent solution to the problems.

Speaking while receiving leaders of a Fulani group, Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, on Tuesday at his palace, Sanusi said it was time the government found a permanent solution to the Fulani crises in the country.

He said: ” But this can only be done if the federal government gives me its full support to carry out my mission because it has the power and what it takes to make my strategy work, while I will provide the ideas and the methodologies to achieve this.

There is no doubt that the Fulanis of Nigeria have suffered severe attacks, isolation, killing and destruction and theft of their cows, these wastes have been broadcast across the country and something must be done to stop the situation.

However, it is not false that there are malicious individuals among the Fulani who have removed the good reputation of the people and subjected them to what they are suffering today. “So the government with us will find a permanent solution to the crises, especially between them and the farmers and where they are suspected of having committed other crimes.

“I, for my part, am ready to help the government achieve the desired mission of bringing peace and prosperity among the Fulani and also other Nigerians. Their suffering must end. I believe that together we will achieve this.”

Speaking, the leader of the Fulani group, Madibo Jada, said they were in the palace to contact the Emir for his second return as leader, who was appointed long ago by Lamido of Adamawa.

Our members are mostly in the bush and if I were to ask only the youths of our group to come here today, this palace would be too small for us. We have members in all 36 states of Nigeria, Jada said.

He added that they believed that the Emir Sanusi had what it takes to correct their tarnished names and establish the record of their identity and contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
