The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the recruitment of 10,000 applicants for constable and specialist cadre roles in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The successful candidates were chosen from across the 774 local government areas (LGAs) in the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani detailed that 9,000 applicants were approved for general duty roles, while 1,000 were selected for specialist cadre positions.

The rigorous selection process aimed to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of the NPF.

PSC Chairman Solomon Arase highlighted the importance of the recruitment process, stating, “I am filled with optimism because these young men and women represent the future of our nation’s security. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that their journey begins on a foundation of integrity, transparency, and excellence.”

Arase also mentioned that 10 applicants were selected from each LGA, following advice from the national assembly.

He emphasized the need for the list of successful candidates to be presented to the public in a manner compliant with the Nigeria Data Protection Act of 2023.

Prospective candidates can check if they have been selected by using their national identification number (NIN).
