Nollywood producer and television personality, Stephanie Coker, opened up about her harrowing struggle with infertility and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) during an interview with renowned media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

Coker disclosed that her battle with PCOS made her contemplate suicide, shedding light on the profound impact of the condition on her mental health.

She shared that she conceived her first child, Ariella, through in vitro fertilization (IVF) but faced immense disappointment and emotional turmoil when her attempt to conceive a second child via the same method failed.

“I got pregnant and had my first child on the first IVF but the second one failed and I actually wanted to stand in front of a car and let the car hit me. My daughter wants a sibling. I’m not getting back on that flight with no baby,” Coker revealed.

The actress recounted a particularly dark moment following the failed IVF procedure. She called a friend, expressing her despair and feelings of rejection. “I called my friend and told her, ‘I don’t think the child liked me. It didn’t stay,'” she said.

Coker’s diagnosis of PCOS was not only emotionally taxing but also physically debilitating. She described it as “life-threatening,” detailing how the condition left her wheelchair-bound, vomiting blood, and without a menstrual cycle for an entire year.
