The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has reassured the public that normal passenger train services between Kaduna-Rigasa and Idu Abuja are continuing despite a minor derailment at Jere station.

On Sunday morning, some coaches on a train departing from Rigasa Train Station in Kaduna to Abuja derailed in a mountainous area near Jere.

In response, Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director of Public Relations for NRC, issued an official statement confirming that all passengers on board the affected train safely reached their respective destinations.

Mahmood emphasized the NRC’s commitment to passenger safety and informed that NRC engineers are already on-site working to restore the affected locations.

“All the passengers on board the Kaduna-Rigasa to Idu Abuja arrived at their respective destinations safely,” Mahmood stated.

“Meanwhile, a team of NRC engineers are already at the site to restore the affected locations.”

The NRC management expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to passengers and reiterated its dedication to ensuring the safety and comfort of its valued passengers.

“Nigerian Railway Corporation Management regrets any inconveniences to our affected valued passengers. NRC wishes to assure our valued passengers of our efforts towards ensuring their safety and comfort always,” Mahmood added.
