The Kano State Police Command has pledged to enforce a court order restraining the state government from dissolving five newly created Emirates.

Commissioner of Police Muhammad Hussain Gumel made the announcement on Saturday at a press briefing at police headquarters.

Gumel assured that security agencies will maintain law and order, and warned that anyone attempting to disrupt the peace will face the full force of the law.

He urged miscreants to refrain from violence and warned that anyone found hijacking the situation to launch attacks will be dealt with ruthlessly.

The police boss emphasized that the combined security agencies have put in place measures to prevent a breakdown of law and order and ensure the safety and security of all inhabitants in the state.

This development comes amid tensions in the state following the reinstatement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and the arrest order for deposed Emir Ado Bayero.
