British broadcaster Piers Morgan has pinpointed two critical matches that he believes cost Arsenal the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City secured the championship on Sunday by defeating West Ham United 3-1, while Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Everton was not enough to overtake Pep Guardiola’s side, leaving them in second place, two points behind City.

Following the conclusion of the Premier League campaign, Morgan took to his X account to express his views on the turning points of the season for Arsenal.

He highlighted the team’s losses to West Ham and Fulham during a crucial period between Christmas and the New Year as the moments that ultimately derailed their title ambitions.

“Arsenal blew the league in that dismal period between Christmas and the New Year when we lost to West Ham and Fulham,” Morgan wrote.

“You can’t do that and expect to beat a side as good, relentless, and ruthless as Guardiola’s City. Win either of those relatively easy games, and we’d now be champions.”
