Northern Governors Mourn Passing of Former Yobe Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim

Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NGF), Inuwa Yahaya, expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the first civilian governor of Yobe State.

The late politician, aged 73, passed away on Sunday in Saudi Arabia following an illness and was laid to rest there after funeral prayers led by Saudi Arabian imams.

In a statement released by his media aide, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, Governor Inuwa extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the 19 Northern governors. He conveyed sympathy to Governor Mai Mala Buni, the people of Yobe State, and the family and associates of the deceased.

The news of Bukar’s passing is described as a profound shock and a significant loss for the Northern region and Nigeria as a whole. Governor Inuwa emphasized the enduring legacy of Bukar’s service and contributions, noting that his vision and leadership had left an indelible mark on the people of Yobe State and the nation.

Governor Inuwa hailed Bukar Abba Ibrahim as a visionary and exemplary leader, citing his prioritization of the welfare of the people and the solid foundation he laid for Yobe State’s development. The late governor was remembered for his commitment to unity and harmony, making lasting contributions during his tenure as the first civilian Governor of Yobe State.

In closing, Governor Inuwa expressed shared grief with the family, associates, and the people of Yobe State, praying for Allah’s mercy to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
