Manchester United Sign Mason Mount From Chelsea

Manchester United has successfully acquired the services of Mason Mount from Chelsea for an initial fee of £55m.

Okay.ng reports that te overall transfer fee for the talented English midfielder could potentially reach £60m, contingent upon his performance and appearances over the course of multiple seasons.

Mount, at the age of 24, has committed to a five-year contract with Manchester United, effective until the summer of 2028. Additionally, the club holds an option to extend the agreement for an additional year.

This transfer marks United’s inaugural signing of the summer, thereby bringing an end to Mount’s remarkable 18-year tenure with Chelsea. During his time at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder achieved illustrious victories in competitions such as the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Expressing his thoughts on the move to United, Mount stated, “Leaving the club where I grew up is never an easy decision, but joining Manchester United presents an exhilarating new challenge for the next phase of my career. Having faced them on the pitch, I am well aware of the strength and quality within this squad, and I eagerly anticipate contributing to the collective pursuit of major honours.”

He further added, “The progress made by the club under the guidance of Erik ten Hag is evident to all. After conversing with the manager and delving into his vision, I am brimming with excitement for the forthcoming seasons and prepared to exert the utmost effort demanded in this esteemed institution.”

Unquestionably ambitious, Mount emphasizes his burning desire to relish the triumph of claiming prestigious trophies once more, stating, “I am fully committed to going above and beyond to experience that incredible feeling once again, this time with Manchester United.”

In anticipation of his transition to Manchester United, Mount conveyed a heartfelt message to Chelsea fans via his Instagram account on Tuesday evening.
