Viola Davis’ Memoir “Finding Me” Earns Grammy for Best Audiobook Narration

Actor and EGOT winner Viola Davis has added another award to her impressive collection, winning a Grammy for best audiobook narration and storytelling for her best-selling memoir “Finding Me.”

The 57-year-old actress beat out a talented field of competitors, including EGOT winner Mel Brooks, Oscar and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In her acceptance speech at the pre-telecast ceremony in Los Angeles, Davis shared the personal significance of her book and the award, saying, “I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola. To honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. And, it has just been such a journey — I just EGOT!”

The audiobook version of “Finding Me” gives listeners an intimate and powerful look at the actress’ life and experiences, narrated by the woman herself.

Davis’ voice and storytelling bring the memoir to life, captivating audiences and earning her the well-deserved Grammy award.

The Grammy win adds to Davis’ impressive list of awards and accolades, including an Oscar for best supporting actress in “Fences,” a Tony (her second) for the same role in August Wilson’s play, and an Emmy for best actress in a drama for “How to Get Away with Murder.”

Viola Davis continues to inspire and captivate audiences with her talent, performances, and powerful storytelling.
