Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed his condolences on the death of Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki, who passed away on Thursday.

In a statement signed by his special adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, the Governor described the news of Seriki’s death as shocking, worrisome, and unfortunate.

According to the statement, Oyebanji had met with Seriki recently and the Ambassador had not shown any signs of illness at the time.

The Governor described Seriki as a big brother and mentor, and said that his death was a personal loss to him.

Oyebanji also praised Seriki’s political abilities, describing him as a “highly refined politician, seasoned administrator, and patriotic leader who saw politics and public service as avenue to serve and contribute to nation building.”

He expressed his sadness that Seriki had not lived to see the realization of the political aspirations of the APC National Leader and Presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In conclusion, the Governor offered his condolences to the Federal Government, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as to the late Ambassador’s family and friends.

He also asked for God to grant Seriki’s soul eternal rest and to give his family the strength to bear this loss.
