Ademola Seriki, Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain and permanent representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, passed away on December 15, 2022, at the age of 63.

Here are ten things to know about Ademola Seriki

  1. Ademola Seriki was Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain, a position he assumed in January 2021.
  2. He concurrently held accreditation as a permanent representative of Nigeria to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
  3. Prior to his role as ambassador, Seriki served as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence.
  4. He was a well-respected politician, teacher, businessman, and public administrator.
  5. Seriki was born in Lagos, Nigeria on November 30, 1959.
  6. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Management from the City University of New York.
  7. After completing his education, Seriki began his career in the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he quickly rose through the ranks.
  8. During his time as ambassador, he worked tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and Spain and was instrumental in securing several important agreements and partnerships between the two countries.
  9. He was also a vocal advocate for Nigeria’s interests on the global stage and was highly regarded for his intelligence and diplomatic skills.
  10. Seriki passed away on December 15, 2022 at the age of 63.
