Femi Falana, Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has said that he would have been surprised if Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the PDP, won the 2019 presidential election.

Falana said this during an interview on Channels Television programme ‘Hard Copy’.

He stated that Atiku’s emergence has negative implications, adding that his chances of winning his case in court are “tough”.

In his words, “I would have been surprised if Atiku had won. Atiku’s emergence has negative implications. He will have to defend many negative comments by Obasanjo.

“He is under investigation by the United States Government. He never came out to deny the representation that he will enrich his friends. Atiku was going to sell the NNPC to his friends.”

When asked if he thinks Atiku could win in court, Falana said: “Atiku’s chances in court are very tough.”

Okay Nigeria recalls that Atiku Abubakar failed to defeat his close rival, Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.
