Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has explained why his side defeated Arsenal 3-2 in the Premier League fixture played on Saturday evening.

Goals from Pedro, Morata and Alonso ensured that the Blues defeated the Gunners at the Stamford Bridge as goals from Mkhitaryan and Iwobi were not enough for the visitors to get a point.

Sarri believes that the West London club won because they fought hard especially in the second half to get the three points.

The 59-year-old, however, admitted that his players made some tactical mistakes in the first half.

“It was a wonderful game,” Metro UK quoted Sarri as saying at post-match conference.

“The three points were very hard for us but I think that we did well because after the end of the first half it was not so easy to start again.

“I think we lost the distance between players because in the 15 mins [before half-time] we were unable to cover the lost ball and to arrive to press at the right time.

“I think we lost completely the distances. We have to work because in 15 mins we conceded four or five opportunities so we have to work.”

The victory against the Emirates club means that Sarri’s side now currently top the EPL table with six points from two games.
