President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Nigeria on Friday for Jordan where he is expected to attend a meeting on terrorism.

It was gathered that the meeting will take place in the Asian country from December 2 to 3, 2017.

Media aide to Buhari Femi Adesina said this in a statement on Thursday.

He noted that the president would discuss issues surrounding terrorism in the country as well as seek measures to cripple activities of insurgents.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will join other Heads of State in Aqaba, Jordan, to review strategies in fighting terrorism and reinforce joint security structures that will be more proactive in preventing attacks,” the statement read.

“The Aqaba Retreat, hosted by HM King Abdullah II of Jordan, will hold Dec 2-3, 2017

“At the meeting, the President will share Nigeria’s experience on terrorism and its spread across West Africa, and solicit more support for pre-emptive measures that will neutralise the activities of insurgents in the sub-region.

“PMB will also hold bilateral meetings with some Heads of State. He will be accompanied to Jordan by the governors of Kogi, Osun and Niger States; Ministers of Defence, Education, Foreign Affairs; NSA; and the Acting DG of the National Intelligence Agency.”
