Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that he has been impressed with Kylian Mbappe this season as rumour spreads around the striker’s future.

The Monaco star has been in sensational form this campaign, bagging 24 goals in just 39 games in all competitions in what has been a brilliant season for the Ligue 1 side.

That has attracted the interest of some of the biggest clubs in world football – with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea all rumoured to be set to battle it out for the Frenchman’s signature.

And, when French publication SFR Sport asked Antonio Conte on his thoughts about Mbappe, he couldn’t help but praise the 18-year-old for an incredible season.

“I don’t like to speak about the players of other teams,” the Chelsea manager said.

“But, in this case, I think it’s normal to tell that he [Mbappe] is a really good prospect. He’s very important for football.

“For sure he’s very young and has a lot of room to improve. He has great characteristics to become a top [player].”
