An Abuja-based private investigator, Mr. Victor Uwajeh yesterday declared his readiness to testify against Senator Andy Uba over his alleged involvement in certificate forgery.

Uwajeh, who briefed journalists in Abuja, denied the allegation of blackmail and extortion leveled against him by the Senator.

Uba, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts, had sought the intervention of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris on the matter.

In a petition to the IGP, he urged him to treat the petition with “characteristic urgency and meticulousness.”

Uba accused Uwajeh of trying to blackmail him.

But Uwajeh explained that his problem with Uba started when he refused to pay him a legal fee of £1. 9 million for the services he rendered to quash the ban placed on him from entering the United Kingdom (UK).

Uwajeh displayed some documents to back up his claims, adding that some of the certificates claimed by Uba were not genuine.

He further explained that he had three powers of attorney that they both signed, which Uba later declined to honour.

“I filed a court process against him in 2016 before Justice Merriam Anenih, to seek the payment of my professional fees and the case was later moved to court 11 in Apo area of Abuja.”

Uwajeh stressed that the court documents were served on Uba through the Clerk of the National Assembly and also pasted at his residence in Asokoro district.

He said based on that, he does not understand how blackmail could be associated with the case.

He disclosed that his life had been threatened since his ordeal with Uba started, adding that he has the original certificate of Uba’s West African School Certificate (WAEC), which was given to him while holding brief for Uba.
