The Imo state Government has said it was making arrangement to absorb 1,000 ex-militants from Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas into the state civil service.

The Deputy Chief of Staff to Gov. Rochas Okorocha, Mr Kingsley Uju confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

The governor recently announced state pardon for ex-militants who openly surrendered their arms to government and promised to reintegrate them into the system.

Uju said the employment would go a long way in giving the repented militants full hope of a new beginning.

“This government meant well for all and will continue to cater for everybody.

“We will bring back hope to all the repented militants by reintegrating them into the system,” Uju said.
