sokoto-fire-outbreakThe cause of the inferno could not ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak as at press time, it was gathered that Governor Aminu Tambuwal raced to the scene of the incident to join in the efforts to put out the fire.


 

Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at the Sokoto State Old market. As of 11:pm the fire is still gulping some blocks despite persistent effort of Firefighters.

Sokoto state governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR was right there giving a helping hand to Firefighters.

The cause of the inferno could not ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak as at press time, it was gathered that Governor Aminu Tambuwal raced to the scene of the incident to join in the efforts to put out the fire.

It could not be confirmed the extent of the damage the outbreak had caused, it was said however that millions of naira worth of goods must have been affected judging by the intensity of the inferno.

All efforts to speak with the spokesman to the Governor of Sokoto, Mallam Imam Imam, proved abortive as his telephone line was switched off.
