Late Bukky Ajayi

Legendary Nollywood actress, Bukky Ajayi who died on Wednesday at the age of 82, stopped eating and talking on Monday according to her family members.

A relation of the motion picture icon informed our correspondent that the Critical Assignment star was too weak to do anything by the time she died.

“Mama stopped eating and talking to us since Monday. Nothing we did could get her to eat,” the family member said shortly after Ajayi’s burial at the Atan Cemetery on Wednesday evening.

Contrary to widely held belief, the lady who spoke anonymously said the actress was not confined to the wheelchair before her death.

Hear her: “Although Aunty had trouble staying on her feet for long, she was not confined to the wheelchair. She stood and walked occasionally but sat immediately she became too weak on her feet.”

Ajayi was believed to have lost the use of her legs following her appearance at the 2016 AMVCA in a wheelchair in March.

After collecting her Industry Merit Award, she brought some in the audience to tears when she said “You all standing for me? – If I stand up, I will fall down, that is why I’m sitting down.”
