85-YR-OLD WOMAN MURDERED, EYES REMOVED IN TARABA

There was pandemonium in New Era Area of Jalingo, Taraba State, yesterday when an 85-year-old Mama Laraba’s lifeless body was found by the site of her farm with her two eyes removed.

A resident of the area, who spoke to our source on the ugly incident, said that Mama Laraba who had left her home to the farm at 7am on Saturday, did not return home until late night when her neighbours joined her two daughters to search for her at the farm.

“After 24 hours that Mama Laraba did not return home from the farm, the two daughters and other neighbours who traced her to the farm, discovered that she was assassinated with the two of her eyes mutilated” an eye witness said.

Also speaking to our correspondent on the incident, Pastor Jummai Kefas who is one of the diseased’s daughter, said that their aged mother on Saturday left her home to her farm around Jenibambu to harvest her millet when she was killed by the assassins.

“We noticed that all was not well when Mama did not return at the usual time that she do come back from the farm. When fear and suspicious engulfed our heart, we mobilized and went to look for her. On getting to the farm, we recovered her dead body by the side of the farm with the two eyes removed by unknown killers,” she stressed.

Another resident of the area, Mr. Badong Mago, who narrated the devilish act, described her killers as heartless and wicked. When contacted on the incident, Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Joseph Kwaji, confirmed the incident.
