A 32-year-old man, Uwem Asuquo, is now cooling his heels in the cell of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, after was arrested for allegedly raping his late brother’s 10-year-old daughter repeatedly.

Vanguard Newspaper reports that after his brother died, Asuquo decided to take his niece to stay with him to ease the burden on her mother but unknown to all, Asuquo turned the little girl into his sex slave and had illicit sex with her on several occasion.

But the bubble burst on him when the girl’s maternal grandmother took her to live with her at Okunola area of Egbeda.

Asuquo reportedly went to the house and took the girl to a nearby Mosque and raped here yet again. This time, the rape was so brutal the girl could hardly walk as a result of bruises in her private part.

That gave him away as a female neighbour became suspicious and called the attention of the girl’s grandmother.

On interrogation, the little girl opened up and told the shocked woman that her uncle had carnal knowledge of her.

She further revealed that Asuquo had been having sex with her throughout her stay in his place.

The case was reported the case to Gowon Divisional Police Station, Egbeda, and the suspect was promptly arrested.
