Popular social media commentator, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has disclosed that over ₦180 million was stolen from his NGO’s account following a hacking incident.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Otse revealed that the funds were diverted to an unknown account but assured his followers that recovery efforts are underway.

“I’ve not been myself these past few days,” Otse said in the emotional video. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and ₦180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”

Otse explained that the account is now under a Post No Debit (PND) restriction to prevent further withdrawals. While ₦20 million remains in the account, he said that ₦160 million had already been diverted.

“We’re heading to Jos to recover the money,” he added.

To address the breach, Otse announced that the NGO’s app had been temporarily shut down for maintenance to enhance security and prevent further incidents. He assured supporters that updates on the recovery process would be provided in due course.

The Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, launched in October 2024, quickly gained significant attention, raising over ₦35 million within hours of its launch.

Shortly after, renowned music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, donated ₦100 million to the cause, boosting the NGO’s efforts to support vulnerable communities.
