Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has issued a public apology to his wife, May, after marrying a second wife.
In a message shared on social media, Edochie admitted that his actions had caused his wife deep pain and apologized for any hurt he may have caused.
“To my dear wife, Queen May Yul-Edochie, I acknowledge that I hurt you deeply and I’ve apologised to you countless times. I take the blame for my actions,” Edochie wrote.
“I agree with you that polygamy shouldn’t be forced on anyone. You never bargained for it from the beginning neither did I. But I guess life happens, you already know the whole story. I didn’t do it to disrespect you. I didn’t do it to replace you nor because I don’t love you anymore, no.”
Edochie went on to emphasize his love for May and his commitment to being a good husband and father. He also stressed that nobody was trying to take May’s place and that he had sincerely apologized to her from the heart.
“I assure you that nobody is trying to take your place. I have apologised to you countless times sincerely from my heart. I’m sorry, I’ve always loved you and always will,” he wrote.
“Butuo nwamyi oma. We can live peacefully and happily.”
Yul had in April announced the birth of his child with his lover, Judy Austin.
