Popular Nigerian comedian and actor AY Makun has lodged a petition with the police in Delta State, calling for the arrest of Facebook content creator Agozi Commedy.
The petition is based on Agozi’s now-deleted video where he alleged that AY had an extramarital affair with May, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie.
In the petition filed on January 24 through his legal representatives, AY accused Agozi of criminal defamation and cyberstalking.
The comedian denied the allegations made by the content creator and urged law enforcement to take immediate action.
“The said publication alleges that our client is involved in an extramarital affair with one May Eodchie, the wife of Yul Eodchie, and that our client was responsible for the marital crisis between May and her husband,” the petition stated.
It further urged the police to investigate and apprehend Agozi for the alleged offenses.
In response to the petition, Agozi took to Facebook on Monday to issue a public apology to AY, admitting that his previous video contained false claims.
“AY, I am very sorry. Please forgive me. I want the general public to know that those allegations I made in those videos are fake,” Agozi stated.
“AY is the biological father of his second daughter, AY does not have anything to do with May. I just did that to get popularity.”
