The incident has sparked outrage among the medical community and the public at large, with many pointing fingers at the hospital’s management for their alleged negligence and failure to address the long-standing issues with the elevator. A Twitter user, Big Amara, expressed her dismay in a tweet, stating, “A doctor who had just 2 weeks to complete her housemanship just died in general hospital(Odan, Lagos island) due to poor management and negligence!!! The elevator she was in, fell from 10th floor to the ground! Video was so painful to watch.”
Dr. Olawale Ogunlana, another Twitter user, shared his personal experience at the hospital, revealing a history of maintenance issues with the elevators. He wrote, “I completed my internship in General Hospital Odan Lagos and I’m aware of their ZERO maintenance attitude. Elevators show tons and signs of problems before collapsing.
