A new service by Google will enable you to order food from the search results page of the search engine. This move is set to make ordering food that much easier. When searching for a restaurant, you will also have a ‘place an order’ option right on the results page. Since you don’t have to visit a website to go through the menu and then order, you also end up saving a considerable amount of time.
This feature is only rolling out in the US for now and is a result of a collaboration of Google and six food-ordering services. Although that is a limited number of food-providers, Google would be hoping to expand soon. The service is likely to hit other countries in some time as well.
A post by Google regarding the move, read, “Whether you’re craving deep dish pizza or pad thai, starting today you can order food from some of your favourite restaurants directly from Google search results.”
Google was last in the news for opening up its ‘Ok Google ‘ voice feature to third party Android apps such as Shazam, Walmart, Tunein Radio etc.
