Nigerian international Victor Osimhen delivered a standout performance in Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory over Goztepe in Saturday’s Super Lig encounter, further solidifying his impact in the Turkish league.
Osimhen, who was making his 12th appearance for the club this season, opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a confidently executed penalty, sending the home fans at Nef Stadium into a frenzy.
Goztepe, however, found an equalizer in the 27th minute through Romulo, temporarily silencing the passionate Galatasaray supporters.
Galatasaray reclaimed the lead in the 61st minute, courtesy of a spectacular strike by Yunus Akgün, which ultimately secured the three points for the league leaders.
Osimhen’s performance continues to impress, with the striker now boasting 10 goals and three assists this season, underlining his importance to Galatasaray’s title ambitions.
The victory keeps Galatasaray firmly at the top of the Super Lig table with 47 points, extending their lead and strengthening their position as title favorites.
Meanwhile, Goztepe remains in fifth place with 28 points, struggling to close the gap on the top four.
