Nigerians on Twitter are currently jubilating confirming the restoration of electricity in many parts of the country.
Okay.ng recalls that Nigeria was hit by a total blackout after workers of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) commenced a strike action over its demands.
The electricity workers are asking the federal government to resolve some of the issues like illegal transfer of union properties to power investors, alleged refusal by some Distribution Companies (DisCos) to remit deducted contributory pension of staff to pension managers and improved conditions of service.
However, following a meeting with the officials of the federal government and the union, the one-day strike was called off.
UP NEPA began to trend some hours after Nigerians confirmed that the electricity has been restored.

NEPA is an abbreviate for the National Electric Power Authority, which is now Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
PHCN has now been privatized which is handled by different DisCos across Nigeria.
