Uhuru Kenyatta has been re-elected as president of Kenya following Tuesday’s vote, the country’s electoral commission has announced.
Kenyatta got 54.3% votes, ahead of his rival Raila Odinga, with 44.7%.
However, the opposition coalition rejected the electoral commission’s announcement before the results were declared.
The opposition party believes the election was rigged in favour of the president, calling the process a “charade”.
Meanwhile, International observers have described the election as free and fair.
