President Bola Tinubu has given his nod for the establishment of a Governing Council for the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), which will be domiciled in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
The announcement was made through a statement by Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
The appointed members of the MDGIF Governing Council include the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), who will serve as the Chairman, the Executive Director of MDGIF, Mr Oluwole Adama, and the Governing Council Secretary, Mr Joseph Tolorunshe.
Other key members of the council include Engr Farouk Ahmed, who is the Chief Executive of NMDPRA, a representative from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and a representative from the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The council also comprises independent members: Ms Amina Maina representing the North-East, Mr Edet David Ubong representing the South-South, and Mr Tajudeen Bolaji Musa representing the South-West.
President Tinubu has charged the newly appointed council to execute their responsibilities with the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism.
