Ad Dynamo by Aleph, Africa’s leading digital media sales house, has announced the appointment of Stephen A. Newton as its managing director for Africa.
Newton will be responsible for driving pan-African expansion and supporting Ad Dynamo by Aleph’s partners in overcoming the challenges of doing business across the continent.
Ad Dynamo by Aleph is the exclusive media buying extension for Spotify, Twitter, Snap, and Yahoo in Africa.
As an enabler of digital advertising in emerging markets, the company is helping to break down barriers and connect brands with audiences.
Newton brings over 25 years of experience in leading EMEA businesses across the digital space. He has held senior positions at Google South Africa, DoubleClick EMEA, PostivoBGH, Date.ce, and The Illuminate Africa Group Ltd., a consulting firm that he co-founded.
He is also an advisor for several startups and mid-sized African companies that operate in different parts of the online space.
Newton says he is excited to join Ad Dynamo by Aleph and play a role in implementing its goal of breaking barriers.
“As both a developing market and a continent with a rapidly growing population, Africa is poised to house not only a sizeable portion of the world’s population but also a sizeable portion of the world’s eligible workforce,” he says.
“I am looking forward to working with our partners to create platforms that reduce the friction associated with doing business in these markets.”
He adds that Ad Dynamo by Aleph plans to continue to grow in anticipation of its partners’ needs and solidify its position as a preferred partner.
“We will build where they need us using tried and trusted methodologies, and we will continue to collaborate to create value for our partners and their customers,” he says.
Ad Dynamo by Aleph was acquired by Aleph Group, a global organisation that operates across more than 90 countries, in late 20213.
The acquisition extended Aleph’s services across the African continent with a focus on Twitter, Spotify, Snapchat and Verizon Media.
Ad Dynamo by Aleph also revealed plans for significant expansion in Nigeria earlier this year, including a commitment to educate thousands of Nigerians in digital media.
