The Nigeria Startup Portal, a key initiative under the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA 2022), is now open for registration.
Launched by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the portal aims to foster the growth of startups and tech talent in Nigeria.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you register and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the portal.
- Step 1: Visit the Nigeria Startup Portal Go to the official website, www.startup.gov.ng, and click on the “Register” button.
- Step 2: Choose your Registration Type Select the appropriate registration type from the options provided, such as Startup, Venture Capital (VC), Angel Investor, Accelerator, Incubator, or Hub.
- Step 3: Enter your Details Fill in the required information, including your name, email address, and other relevant details based on your registration type.
- Step 4: Verify your Email Check your email inbox for a verification link sent by the Nigeria Startup Portal. Click on the link to validate your email address.
- Step 5: Complete your Profile After verifying your email, log in to the portal and complete your profile by providing additional information about your startup, investment focus, or services offered.
- Step 6: Apply for a Startup Label (for Startups) If you registered as a startup, you can now apply for a Startup Label. This label will make you eligible for statutory incentives, resources, and opportunities under the Nigeria Startup Act.
- Step 7: Get Verified (for VCs, Angels, Accelerators, Incubators, and Hubs) If you registered as a VC, Angel Investor, Accelerator, Incubator, or Hub, you will need to get verified by providing the necessary documentation and information.
- Step 8: Join the Startup Consultative Forum Your registration on the Nigeria Startup Portal qualifies you to participate in forming the Startup Consultative Forum, a platform for collaboration and policy discussions among stakeholders.
By completing the registration process, you’ll become part of a growing community of 12,948 startups, 912 VCs, 1,735 Angel Investors, and 925 Accelerators, Incubators & Hubs already registered on the portal.
