In a move to facilitate dialogue, the Jos #EndBadGovernance Protest 2024 Coalition has temporarily suspended its street protests for two days. The coalition’s spokesperson, Mr. Enoch Vilret, announced the suspension on Sunday, citing the need for constructive discussions with relevant authorities as called for by President Bola Tinubu in his recent broadcast.

The suspension, effective from August 4 to August 6, aims to allow for meaningful engagement with stakeholders. The coalition remains committed to its cause and hopes for a productive dialogue during this period. If talks do not occur within the stipulated timeframe, the protesters plan to resume their peaceful demonstrations.

Vilret emphasized that the coalition is not the organizer of the protests but rather a group of leaders who have stepped in to ensure the protests remain peaceful and orderly, with the primary aim of supporting and guiding the voices of fellow citizens in a responsible and constructive manner.
