President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday meet with the leadership of the aggrieved members of the new Peoples Democratic Party within the ruling All Progressives Congress.
This was revealed by the leader of the group, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, on Sunday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
But Baraje said they would first meet with the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
The nPDP had publicly criticised Buhari and the ruling party for allegedly marginalising them.
Baraje said he was hopeful that at the end of the meetings with Osinbajo and Buhari, the APC would become more united ahead of next year’s elections.
“After meeting with the Vice-President, the attendees at the meeting are expected to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari later in the day to intimate him about the outcome of their meeting,” he said.
“I am optimistic that at the end of the meeting with the Vice-President, and later with President Muhammadu Buhari, our party, the APC, will come out stronger and become more united in the general interest of the citizenry.”
