Nigeria Move Up Two Places In Latest FIFA Ranking

The Nigerian senior national team, the Super Eagles, moved up two places to 38th in the latest FIFA World football ranking released on Thursday.

The Super Eagles, who were ranked 40th in the world and 5th in Africa last month, overtook Burkina Faso to moved to 4th on the continent behind Egypt, Senegal and 2016 AFCON champions, Cameroon.

The Nigerian national team are yet to lose a game since appointing German coach Gernot Rohr, and the last time they suffered a defeat was in March last year, when they were beaten 1-0 by Egypt in a 2017 AFCON qualifier in Alexandria.

In the world rankings, Brazil, Argentina and Germany are the top three teams in the world, followed by Chile and Colombia.

France, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain complete an unchanged top 10.
