Three farmers in Gombe state were arrested by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency for cultivating Indian hemp.
The arrest was made in Kulani village where the farmers allegedly cultivated 160 kilogrammes of the banned substance.
This was disclosed on Saturday by the state NDLEA Commandant, Aliyu Adole.
He said the arrested men are just the first of many on whose trail the agency is on. The arrest was carried out after due investigation and surveillance of the accused.
He urged community leaders and residents to aid the NDLEA’s bid to arrest farmers who cultivate cannabis products.
