Afeez Fashola, a Nigerian singer popularly known as Naira Marley, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission confirmed the arrest through Tony Orilade, the acting EFCC spokesperson, in a short telephone interview with Okay Nigeria on Friday.
Orilade said:
“Yes, he is with us. He’s not the only person; he had some other persons also arrested alongside (him).
“They were arrested in relation to advance fee fraud — Internet-related cases and all of that. Give me a little time and I will get you the details.”
Okay Nigeria recalls that the singer have publicly supported internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’ saying the action is not a crime.
