Moyo Lawal, a well-known Nollywood actress, has provided more information about a viral sex video featuring her.
The video, which circulated widely on social media in September, captured an intimate moment between the actress and a man, sparking a range of reactions among Nigerian movie enthusiasts.
The incident led to speculation, with some Nigerians suggesting that she may have willingly shared the video, while others argued that she was being blackmailed.
Lawal had previously threatened legal action over the “unauthorized distribution” of the video on social media.
However, in a recent Instagram post, the actress shed light on the circumstances surrounding the video. Lawal stated that she allowed the recording because her partner “put in a lot of work to win my trust over the years.”
She also revealed that she had engaged in sexual intercourse “twice last year,” and one of those instances was captured in the video.
“One thing I can tell you for a fact, however, is that things are never what they seem to be. I only had [intimacy] twice last year, and one of those times is the video,” she wrote.
Explaining the context, she added, “I agreed to because he started recording after the fact. He does not live in Nigeria, and he put in a lot of work winning my trust over the years, and I mean a lot. So much so, we were already working towards a house, marriage, and all.”
Lawal revealed that she decided to end the relationship last year due to communication issues. She noted that she had made significant sacrifices and turned down dating offers to avoid being entangled in controversies.
Regarding the misconception that she had released the video, she said, “I honestly do not know what to tell you.”
