With the current spate of insecurity in the country, Ohaneze Nidigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group has pleaded with the Boko Haram sect to put an end to their merciless attacks.
Ohaneze Nidigbo have urged the insurgents who have continued to carry incessant attacks in the North Eastern part of the country to lay down their arms in order for to peace to reign and for the progress of country.
Vanguard reports that the President of the Lagos Chapter of the group, Chief Fabian Onwualu while speaking in Abuja during a courtesy visit to former Federal Commissioner for Information and South South leader, Chief Edwin Clark in his Asokoro residence said for the sake of peace “our brothers in the North East should lay down their arms.”
Speaking on President Jonathan’s decision to run for second term in 2015, Chief Fabian Onwualu said:
“We have been very keen. And observing the trends of what has been happening within Jonathan’s administration and we have come to a conclusion that the president has performed.”
Meanwhile recall recently it was reported that Ohaneze Nidigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group rejected the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan to re-run for the second term in the number one office in 2015.
