Pa Suleiman Obasa, the father of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, has passed away. He was 83 years old.
The Speaker announced his father’s death in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, on Tuesday. According to the statement, Pa Obasa died in the early hours of the morning.
Describing his late father, Speaker Obasa highlighted Pa Suleiman’s role as a loving family man and a respected community leader. Pa Obasa was not only a successful businessman, with ventures in the oil and gas and transportation sectors, but he was also known for his achievements in farming, which empowered many people.
“He is a devout Muslim and dedicated his life to the service of Allah and mankind, taking care of the needy and the less privileged,” the Speaker noted.
Pa Obasa’s remains will be interred at 4:00 p.m. in the Agege area of Lagos State, following Islamic rites.
