Following his inauguration as the governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo has wasted no time in setting up his administration, announcing 16 commissioner nominees and key political appointees.
Governor Ododo revealed the list of commissioner nominees shortly after taking the oath of office in Lokoja, the state capital, on Saturday.
The nominees are set to undergo screening and confirmation by the Kogi State House of Assembly.
In his announcement, Ododo expressed confidence in the nominees’ capabilities, citing their experience and dedication to public service.
Many of the nominees had previously served as commissioners in the administration of former Governor Yahaya Bello.
The 16 commissioner nominees are:

- Joseph Oluwaseun

Governor Ododo urged the Kogi State House of Assembly to expedite the screening process for the nominees to facilitate the constitution of his cabinet and ensure effective governance.
Additionally, Ododo unveiled key political appointees who will serve in his administration:
- Folashade Ayodele Arike: Secretary to the State Government
- Ali Bello: Chief of Staff to the Governor
- Hilary Ojoma: Deputy Chief of Staff
- Elijah Evinemi: Head of Service
- Jerry Omodara: State Security Adviser
- Isah Ismail: Special Adviser on Media
- Sulaiman Ibrahim: Director-General Protocol
- Oladele John Niyi: Chief Press Secretary
- Shaibu Orisa: Director-General Government House
- Femi Adegboyega: State Legal Adviser
