Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Saturday launched the construction of N800 million Funtua modern market and motor park to boost economic activities in cosmopolitan Funtua town.
Speaking at the launch, Masari said about 500 shops would be constructed to facilitate more investments in the market.
The governor said that enough space for all categories commercial vehicles with right exits would be provided at the motor-park.
Masari enjoined entrepreneurs to key into opportunities provided by the government, adding that the Federal Government had revived railway lines and other agricultural establishments in the state.
He stressed that all efforts would be geared toward rejuvenating commercial activities in the state and the nation at large as government is diversifying economy and prioritising agriculture and solid minerals investments.
Speaking at the launch, the State’s Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Tasi’u Dandagoro, said contractors have been mobilised to the site and good arrangements had been made to ensure timely completion as well as standard job based on specifications.
