As he moves towards the end of his second tenure in office on November 12, 2016, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, has said that he has nothing to prove anymore in the state, as he had successfully defeated the Edo political god fathers and laid a solid foundation for the development of the state for future governments.
Oshiomhole, who disclosed this in an interview, said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should forget about winning the state in the forthcoming governorship election, as they had nothing to campaign with ahead of the election.
He said: “There are some things I was clear about when I came to office. First, was to reorder the politics of the state. For me, that was the starting point because this state plays host to some of the most vicious godfathers in Nigeria’s political history. Where electoral fraud is celebrated and where the people are dismissed as irrelevant for the purpose of electioneering and where chieftains advertise that there are no vacancies even on the eve of the election.”
