Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has congratulated Ademola Adeleke for emerging winner of the Osun West Senatorial district by-election.
Adeleke, who contested the election to fill the void created by the death of his elder brother, Isiaka, contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He polled 97,480 as against Mudashiru Hussein of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 66,116 votes, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Fani-Kayode, who tweeted immediately after the result was announced, mocked those who said the PDP was dead.
He also mocked the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, and the entire APC for the loss.
We won Osun west sen. election. Congrats to Adeleke! Where are those who said PDP was dead? Shame on @RaAregbesola and APC! @OfficialPDPNig
