President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja swore in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Okay.ng reports that Buhari confirmed the appointment while presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting on Tuesday.
It can be recalled that the Senate had earlier confirmed the appointment of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria on Wednesday 21st September, following two motions moved by Senate Minority Leader, Senator Ibrahim Gobir for the upper chamber to screen Ariwoola.
Olukayode Ariwoola, the then highest-ranking Justice of the Supreme Court took over as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria when Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad resigned on health grounds.
