It’s been a rocky relationship between Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and captain Vincent Enyeama as things took a new turn earlier today as the goalkeeper was kicked out of the team’s hotel ahead of the friendly games with Congo DR and Cameroon.
Enyeama, who failed to turn up for the Eagles AFOCN qualifier against Tanzania in September as a result of the passing away of his mother, had arrived camp after Monday’s deadline having been permitted to report late following the burial ceremony last Saturday.
However, it seems this is the end of the road in his international career as he was kicked out by security on Tuesday from the Verviers Hotel.
In his absence, Ahmed Musa has now been named as captain ahead of returnee Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
However, Super Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye, who is awaiting issuance of visa to join the squad in Belgium, said he was not yet aware of the developments.
“The last I heard was that Enyeama had arrived camp earlier in the day, I cannot speak about further developments because I am not aware,” he said in a chat with Goal.com.
Officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), are reported to have swung into action to bring a positive conclusion to the situation at hand.
