President Muhammadu Buhari this evening approved about N400 billion as a comprehensive relief package for states to offset debts owed workers in the form of unpaid salaries.
The money represents about $1.9 billion from the excess crude account which a committee set up by President Buhari two weeks ago and chaired by the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo,
determined as available to be distributed.
It is expected that the money will go a long way in helping many states clear the backlog of salaries owed workers, some of them in default of up to eight
months
