The 29-year-old is scheduled to sign the contract at the President Suñol suite in a private event before official presentation at the South Goal end at Camp Nou.
He would be Barca’s first signing since they sold striker Neymar to Paris St-Germain for a world record £200m.
The midfielder joined Tottenham for £17m from Corinthians in 2013 and moved to China two years later.
The player has established himself as a regular in the Brazil side since the appointment of Tite as coach last year.
Having made his international debut in 2011, he has 41 caps to his name with nine goals and was part of the squad that won the Confederations Cup in 2013.
