The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno state has finally received former governor of the state Ali Modu-Sheriff into the party.
Thirty-four State Chairmen of the Modu Sheriff-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had formally defected to the APC.
They include Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki and Sen. Teslim Folarin.
Sheriff, who was received by his political godson and once arch-rival Governor Kashim Shettima at a stakeholders meeting in Government House on Friday, said he had forgiven all.
He had earlier called on all supporters of the party to unite in repositioning it ahead of the 2019 general election.
Sheriff said: “I have forgiven everybody who has one way or the other wronged me. I bear no grudge against anybody.
“I rejoined my great party, APC following the misunderstanding we had in PDP when I was the National Chairman, but I have to come back home and rejoin the APC which is my party I helped to form in the past.
“I am joining APC as an ordinary member, and I want to call on all and sundry to support the leadership of governor Kashim Shettima and APC in the state.”
