Veteran Nollywood actor Bimbo Manuel has voiced his concerns over what he describes as the “fake lives” led by some of his colleagues in the Nigerian film industry.
The 66-year-old actor made these remarks during a recent appearance on TVC’s “Your View” program, where he discussed the lifestyles of actors flaunting luxury items.
Manuel claimed that many Nollywood stars who showcase Range Rovers and live in lavish mansions in upscale neighborhoods like Ikoyi are living beyond their means.
He asserted that it is impossible for an actor in Nigeria to afford such luxuries purely from acting fees.
“The actors you see flaunting Range Rovers and mansions in Ikoyi are living fake lives,” Manuel stated, emphasizing the unrealistic expectations this creates for aspiring actors.
“No actor in Nigeria would say he or she can buy a Range Rover from acting fees alone.”
He explained that he personally prefers a “humble and realistic life” over a flamboyant lifestyle
